Our office is accepting patients with the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Just a reminder that the Canadian Dental Care Plan does not provide free dental care. It does pay a portion of the BC dental fee guide; but patients are responsible to pay for the difference between what is covered and the customary fees. The reimbursement ranges from 50-90% of fees depending on your income level.
Your co-payment is based on your adjusted family net income. Family net incomes between $70,000 and $79,999 will have at least 50 per cent co-payment. And those between $80,000 and $89,999 will have around 70 per cent co-payment plan.
Dental work including fillings, cleanings, root canals and extractions can be done right away. However, crowns and partial dentures have to be preauthorized and will not be paid for by the government until Nov 2024 at the earliest. Implants and implant related treatments are not covered under this plan.
