The process of getting dental implants typically takes a few months. The main requirement for successful implant placement is having enough volume of sound healthy bone. If the teeth have been missing for an extended period, we will occasionally require bone grafting procedures to build up the ridge where we will eventually place the implants.
Once we have established that the site is ready for implant placement, the implant is placed and given a few months to adequately heal. Some discomfort is to be expected after the procedure, but that will go away after a few days.
